How much does a kitten cost?

The starting cost for a kitten is $2500-$3500 for a pet. Cost will vary depending upon type, shipping, and health requirements for your area (if outside of Hawaii). In Hawaii there are no extra health requirements for inter-island transfer and those health costs are already included in the full price.

How do I purchase a kitten?

To purchase a kitten, you must complete a kitten waitlist application. If approved, you can select to be on the general waitlist or priority waitlist.

Please check with us for when this waitlist opens up as we only take a certain amount of spots to reserve a kitten.

What are the health guarantees?

All our breeding cats have had health and DNA tests to ensure they are free from major diseases tested and not passing on health concerns. You can see DNA results on their Instagram profile highlights.

Breeding cats health:

  • PKD FREE

  • FIV FREE

  • FELV FREE

Kittens will have a health check by a licensed veterinarian plus have 2 FVRCP Vaccines, tick & flea treatment, be de-wormed, and tested free of parasites before being turned over to their new owner. You will receive a cat health record for your kitten to track their treatments. We recommend you take a kitten to your Vet within 72-hours to get established and confirm the health check.

It is very normal with travel stress & transition, change of food, smells, other animals, kids, etc., cats like humans can catch a cold or have other health concerns like GI tract upset etc. Also if you have other pets that carry new bacterias your kitten is not yet immune to this can affect their health. Your vet can help treat these concerns.

It is also important to remember that up to 90% of cats carry upper respiratory diseases such as herpes and calicivirus. Whilst we have taken every precaution to avoid these concerns, it is very common amongst felines.

However, you can always return a kitten & we can put you back on the waitlist for the next litter.

.

Kitten Treatments:

  • 2 Rounds FVRCP vaccine

  • De-worrmed

  • Flea & Tick treated

  • Fecal analysis cleared

  • Tested free of FIV & FELV

  • Microchipped

  • Cats going to the mainland USA or other country where rabies is required, will need to have rabies vaccine & licensed veterinarian health certificate

Deposit

There is a $1000 dollar deposit required to reserve a kitten. If you were on priority waitlist and paid the $250 deposit toward your kitten, then the remaining deposit balance would be $750 to reserve. The rest of the balance can be paid in monthly increments or in CASH at time of pick up.

The deposit is non-refundable but it is transferrable to another kitten if you decide to wait and can be extended up to 2 years to other litters.

Spay & Neuter

We will either include the cost and have the spay/neuter done before you receive the kitten or we use a company called SpaySecure. SpaySecure uses binding contracts to ensure cat sterilization at a healthy age and DOES NOT INCLUDE BREEDING RIGHTS. They’ll follow up with you to provide advice and reminders, ensuring your kitten’s sterilization. The cost of the SpaySecure program is included in the kitten price.
The cost of the actual spay/neuter surgery is the responsibility of the buyer. All of our kittens must be altered by 6 months of age and ARE NOT SOLD FOR BREEDING. Failure to spay or neuter or breed with any other cat will result in a law litigation for breech of contract & rights.

At what age can kittens go to their new homes?

Kittens can go to their new homes between 12-16 weeks. Before joining your home, we ensure kittens have been seen by a vet, received 2 sets of FVRCP vaccine, microchipped, and dewormed. They will be using the litter box and eating solid food. This allows for an overall more confident and self-adjusted kitten.

Where are you located & how do I get my kitten to me?

We are located on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii near the Hilo airport. New owner is responsible for costs to get their kitten. You can fly in to Hilo and we can meet you with your new kitten! In some cases we can kitten nanny for you (we fly to you) inter island for either the cost of the flight or shared cost with another family who is also receiving a kitten at the same time on your island. Kittens can be shipped in cargo via specific airlines from Hilo, Hawaii which costs around $100+-. We do prefer that the kittens ride in the cabin of the airplane on the day of delivery with either you or someone escorting them. Depending on location, we can discuss transportation options.
